Discussion Leader
Trainees:
-
Must be a graduate of the RLI
program.

Nominated by a current RLI
Discussion Leader.

Attend and complete a Discussion
Leader
training session.

Should be familiar with PowerPoint
and have PowerPoint installed on their computer.
Upon completion of the training session, the trainee
must be approved by the current RLI Officers.
If the candidate is not approved, they will be asked to attend another
Discussion Leader training session so their skills at facilitation can be further
refined.
Exceptions: The RLI Officers can appoint temporary
Discussion Leader members. Temporary Discussion Leader members will be considered a
Discussion Leader trainee, and must abide by the same rules as all other
Discussion Leader
trainees prior to becoming a permanent Discussion Leader member.
Discussion
Leader:
In order to maintain a current
Discussion Leader position status, each Discussion Leader member must:

Participate and facilitate at a
minimum of one RLI per year, and/or
-
Participate in a minimum of one
Discussion Leader practice session per year.

Participate in the Discussion
Leader
Meeting/Meal prior to sessions where they will be serving, unless
excused by the Division or District Chair.
Expenses:

Transportation: All Discussion
Leader and
Discussion Leader trainees are expected to pay their own transportation expenses.

Meals: All Discussion Leader and
Discussion Leader
trainees are expected to pay for their own meals except at the
pre-meeting gathering and at the actual training event which cost are to
be covered by RLI.

Lodging: When lodging is required,
the RLI host location will attempt to place Discussion Leader members in homes of
host Rotarians. If this is not possible, Discussion Leader members are
expected to pay their own lodging costs.
